Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy (PT)

Physical therapists in BLSD come from Southern Health.  They work with the school team to help students make their body move.

Physical therapists work with the school team to help students…

  • move around the school (class, gym, outside at recess) by themselves - gross motor mobility,

  • get their body to move smoothly (physical co-ordination)

  • strengthen muscles that are weak

  • have their toileting needs safely met

  • use equipment that helps student move and sit in a way that is best for their body

  • have their physical needs met in the classroom, in the school, and on the bus
