There will be circumstances when schools are requested to register students who are not living with their parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s).  Student registrations are to be processed in accordance with the Provincial Enrollment Guideline’s, inclusive of the Funding of Temporary Resident Guidelines.  Prior to registering students who do not live with their parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s), contact must be made with the Superintendent’s office.  Once approval to register has been granted, the Temporary Guardianship form must be completed and submitted with the student’s registration package.

The information below is required when a student is attending a Border Land School Division school and will be living within the catchment area of the school but with someone other than their parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s).  The parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) need to provide this information acknowledging that they aware of the living arrangements for their child(ren) and that they are still legally responsible for the education and the well-being of their child(ren).
