Border Land School Division desires to recognize significant events in the lives of all employees and schools.  These events may be of a corporate or private nature.  In order to acknowledge these events, an appropriate response will be forthcoming from the Division.      

 Staff Recognition                

  • In the event of a death of spouse or significant other, child, and parent or

      parent in-law, the Division will send an appropriate response expressing

      our sympathy between the amounts of $30-75.

 Long Term Service and Retirement

 It is the intent of the Border Land School Division that staff members (teachers, bus drivers, custodians, clerical, educational assistants and other support staff) be appropriately recognized for long-term service and retirement. In particular that:

  • This recognition will be given after ten years of cumulative service and every five years thereafter.
  • Recognition shall be in the form of appropriate gifts, related to the length of service.
  • Any employee who retires from the Division shall also be recognized with an appropriate gift.
  • Any other recognition is to be at the discretion of the Board.
  • Whenever possible, such recognition shall take place annually, and at such time and place where the majority of Border Land employees are expected to attend.                                               

 The Division will post a list prior to the event so as to correct any omissions.

 Gifts for each recognized year of service will be selected from an online awards web page.  The link for this web page will be provided to all those employees receiving a recognition award.

Board Member Recognition

 Border Land School Division recognizes long-term service for individual trustees. This recognition shall be given after two terms of cumulative service and every term thereafter.

 Border Land School Division desires to recognize significant events in the lives of individual trustees.  An appropriate response will be issued by the Division.

 Gifts for long-term service

 Trustees will select their service awards from the on-line web page and they will be directed to the appropriate location on the web page when they receive their notification of their award year.
