We encourage the public to become aware of all aspects of the educational system. Schools should strive to become an integral part of the community it serves. School administrators are encouraged to work towards this goal.

 

 Effective schools need the goodwill, respect, and confidence of the public to succeed in its educational mission. The following objectives are provided as a guide to achieving that end.

 

  • To identify the aspirations of parents for their children by maintaining a close relationship with constituents
  • To promote public understanding of all aspects of school operation, both at the divisional and local levels
  • To involve citizens in the work of the schools, to encourage public participation in school activities, and to solicit public advice on how the Division can achieve its educational goals
  • To involve community services (i.e. health, fire, and police services) in school and divisional activities
