Border Land School Division

The Border Land School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Leanna Doig-Gray as Principal for Emerson School.


This permanent appointment will commence in September 2023.

Leanna has been an educator since 2006. Her work experience includes teaching in the middle and senior years in the subject areas of Math, Science, Social Studies and English Language Arts. Leanna has previously worked in Altona and has also worked in Washington and Nebraska. Leanna holds a Bachelor of Education and Post- Baccalaureate from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s Degree from Concordia University.

Leanna believes that the foundation for all leadership resides in relationships. She is passionate about community building and she looks forward to continuing to grow the relationships between the school and the broader community. Leanna looks forward to supporting the staff and the students in teaching, learning, and in particular focusing on their mental health and wellbeing. Leanna resides in the Town of Emerson, and she has two adult children.

We welcome Leanna to this permanent role within the Border Land School Division and we look forward to our continued work with her as the teaching Principal of Emerson School.
