Particulars:
The successful candidate will retain a term full-time (5.5 hours/day) Vocational Assistant position for the RRTVA Carpentry Program at W.C. Miller Collegiate, a Grade 9-12 school located in Altona, Manitoba. The anticipated term start date for this position is September 5, 2023 and end date is to be determined. The duties of this position include supervising and working with students during the building of large and small projects, assisting with safety and tool training, supporting students with theory assignments, as well as assisting with shop and tool maintenance and organization. The successful candidate will receive direction from the Carpentry Instructor; but will report to W.C. Miller Administrators.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma
- Working knowledge of carpentry, building construction, and related trades is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience working with high school age students is an asset
Salary and Benefits:
The compensation package for these positions is in accordance with the Border Land School Division Support Staff Compensation Agreement and the Agreement between Border Land School Division and Vocational Assistants.
