Particulars:
W.C. Miller Collegiate is a grade 9-12 high school with 400 students located in Altona, Manitoba. The successful candidate will retain a 1.0 FTE (100%) permanent position as Guidance Counsellor at W.C. Miller Collegiate. This permanent position will commence September 3, 2024.
The successful candidate will support students through social emotional counselling, crisis intervention, academic planning, and post-secondary/career exploration. The counsellor will collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues to help create a positive and inclusive school environment. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate candidates with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Candidates must demonstrate empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by high school students and experience working with a diverse student body.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
- School Counsellor Certificate is considered an asset
- Experience as a Guidance Counsellor is considered an asset
Salary and Benefits:
The compensation package for these positions is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between Border Land School Division and the Border Land Teachers’ Association.
